1. Steel chassis
Every build starts with a structural steel chassis - the foundation that gives the build its transportability and its long-term integrity. We cut and weld chassis in-house to our standard sizes (4.5×3 up to 14×4). The chassis includes outrigger arms for crane lifts, transport-rated tie-down points, and a steel sub-floor frame ready for insulation and decking.
2. Wall + roof structure
Walls and roof are 100mm insulated Coloursteel® EPS panels - pre-insulated structural panels that arrive ready to assemble. We position them, fix to the chassis, and weather-seal the joints.
Everything is built in our Raglan workshop under cover - no weather delays, no on-site shortcuts, consistent quality control.
3. Joinery + services
Windows and doors fit next - single-glazed standard, with double-glazing available as an upgrade. Then electrical wiring is run through wall cavities, plumbing is roughed-in (sink, shower, toilet, hot water cylinder), and the bathroom + kitchen fitouts go in. We use NZ-sourced joinery where possible.
4. Internal lining + flooring + finish
Internal walls get plasterboard lining and paint. Floors are typically vinyl plank or LVT. Tiny home builds get their kitchen and bathroom final fittings at this stage - taps, toilet, shower box, hob, rangehood. We do a full QA walk-through before the build leaves the workshop.
5. Delivery + landing
The build leaves Raglan on a flatbed or Hiab truck. We deliver to the gate of your section (free on most ≤8×3 designs) and lift / roll the build into final position on your prepared foundation pad. From truck arrival to cabin landed: typically a half-day on site.
