Why farm cabins
What on-farm housing does for the farm.
Salary can be matched by any competitor. A warm dry house on the gate can't. Every build is made to order, so you pay for exactly the size and layout you need — not the next-closest thing off a shelf.
- Attract skilled staff — the ones who'd otherwise choose town jobs.
- Keep the good ones — through the whole season.
- Depreciable business asset — chat to your accountant.
- Relocatable — steel chassis lifts and moves if the farm sells.

FAQs
Questions farmers ask most.
How quickly can you deliver?
Typical lead time is 8–14 weeks from confirmed order to delivery. For urgent seasonal needs we sometimes have ex-display or cancelled-order builds available sooner — ask us.
Am I covered by the new 70m² consent exemption?
From 15 January 2026, standalone dwellings up to 70m² are exempt from building consent if they're single-storey, no mezzanine, max 4m above floor, floor max 1m above ground, designed/built or supervised by a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP), set back at least 2m from neighbours, and the council is notified. All our builds qualify — we're LBP-built. We handle the build documentation; you handle the council notification with help from us.
Can I get something different to the 4 sizes shown?
Yes — every build is made to order. The four shown are the most popular farm starting points but we customise sizes, layouts, finishes and configurations to your property. Browse the full range or get in touch and we'll talk through what suits.
Do you deliver across NZ?
Free North Island gate-to-gate delivery on 3m-wide designs up to 8m long. Larger sizes and South Island delivery quoted separately. We've delivered to the East Cape, Northland, Wairarapa, Hawke's Bay, Manawatū, Taranaki and everywhere in between.
Can the cabin be moved if the farm changes hands?
Yes. Every build sits on a steel chassis and can be lifted off and relocated. If the new owner doesn't want the worker dwelling, sell it separately or take it to your next farm.
What's the tax treatment?
Farm worker accommodation provided as part of an employment arrangement has specific NZ tax treatment — the build can be a depreciable business asset, and the accommodation benefit to the worker may be a fringe benefit or a deduction from wages. Talk to your farm accountant before you commit. Our /farm-worker-accommodation-nz guide goes deeper.
Do you do RSE / mass seasonal worker accommodation?
We build permanent dwellings — best suited to a manager, supervisor or longer-term staff member, not 50-bed RSE bunk facilities. If you're a smaller orchard or vineyard housing a permanent on-site manager, our range fits perfectly.
